- I understand this statement hereby encompasses and applies to all diving activities in which I choose to participate as part of the diving activities organised by the Calypso Sub-Aqua Club.
- I understand that this release applies to all assigns of the Calypso Sub-Aqua Club.
- Further I understand that SCUBA diving involves certain risks including decompression sickness, embolism, or other hyperbaric injuries that require treatment in a recompression chamber. I further understand that the boat diving trips may be conducted at sites that are remote in time, distance or both, from such a recompression chamber. Despite the lack of a recompression chamber near the dive site, I still choose to proceed with such dive.
- I understand that the Calypso Sub-Aqua Club or their assigns may not be held liable or responsible in any way for any injury, death, or other damages to me or my family, heirs, or assigns that may occur as a result of my participation in these diving activities or as a result of the negligence of any party,
including the released Parties, whether passive or active. - As a condition of being allowed to participate in these activities, I hereby personally assume all risks in connection with said activities, for any harm, injury or damage that may befall me while I am participating in these activities, including all risks connected therewith, whether foreseen or unforeseen.
- I release and exempt said activities and Released Parties from any claim or lawsuit by me, my family, estate, heirs, or assigns, arising out of my participation in these activities including both claims arising during the activities.
- I also understand that SCUBA diving causes physical strain or exertion not necessarily experienced in non-diving situations, and that I assume all risks for, and will not hold the Released Parties responsible for, any injuries, including injuries due to heart attack, panic, or other injuries caused by physical strain and exertion.
- I agree to abide by the rules of the Calypso Sub‐Aqua Club (CSAC) and acknowledge that I undertake underwater swimming and associated activities at my own risk and responsibility. I am not suffering from any physical complaint or ailment which may jeopardize my safety or wellbeing whilst taking part in such activities, as declared within the medical section of this application, or, if I have any such ailment, I will declare this and provide regularly a medical certificate to confirm my ability to partake in the club’s diving activities in the interest of my own safety.
- The diving officer is the person who ultimately decides whether any diver joins or not other club members during diving activities. Such a decision, at his only discretion in the interests of my personal safety and that of others, may be taken at any point in time, including whilst underwater. The diving officer will take such decisions in the interest of safety and of the club. I will follow at each point in time the Diving Officer’s instructions, written, spoken or signaled at all times. Should I feel aggravated by the decisions of the Diving Officer, I understand I am able to complain to the club’s committee via email on info@calypsosac.org.
- Diving activities are inherently risky and subject to weather and therefore, dive sites or the dive itself may be cancelled at the discretion of the club in the interest of my personal safety and that of others. In such a case, I will be informed by phone or email as provided. If I change your mind after submitting the booking, I must inform the diving officer immediately through the contact details notified to me at the time of my booking. Bookings cannot be guaranteed due to boat capacity limitations. Preference is given to club members to occupy spaces on the boat.
- I further state that I am of lawful age and legally competent to sign this release, or that I have acquired the written consent of my parent or guardian.
- I hereby state and agree that this Release will be effective and valid for all diving activities for the period of my membership and if I am not a member of the Calypso Sub-Aqua Club for the specific activity I participate in.
- I understand that the terms herein are contractual and not a mere recital, and that i accept these conditions of my own free will.
- I also understand that I am bound to dive to depths within the limits of my diving qualification.
- Solo diving is not encouraged by the club during club diving activities. Any diver diving solo should only do so if qualified by a recognised training agency and suitably equipped for that specific dive.
- These conditions are subject to change at any given moment, following which existing members will be informed of these changes. Should they disagree with the changes and decide to terminate their membership, a pro-rata refund may be issued by the club to cover any remaining pre-paid term of their membership.
These conditions were last updated on the 07/05/2024.
